Heidi (Niffenegger) Moody

Heidi Niffenegger Moody lost her courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CST on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

 Heidi was born on September 6, 1955, to Karl and Joann Niffenegger, in Dodgeville, WI. She was extremely proud of her Swiss heritage and helped her dad make cheese in Rewey, WI. In her mid-twenties she met and married Robert (Robin) Moody in Wheatland, WY. They had two daughters, Megan and Lyn.

In the late 1980’s Robin and Heidi moved to Beulah, ND. Robin worked for Basin Electric and Heidi was a Rural Letter Carrier. After retiring, Heidi enjoyed travel and quilting. She completed over a hundred quilts since 2017, giving them to her friends and family. She designed many of her quilts and used her Long-arm machine to finish them. Robin always hated to see her give them away due to their beauty and extraordinary skill with which she made them. She would laugh and say the only reason I make them is to give them to the people I love.

Heidi loved her grandchildren and enjoyed baking for them, usually getting lots of help from her granddaughters. She lived an exceptional life and touched many people. Heidi will be deeply missed by her husband Robin, her daughter Megan and her husband Ryan Nordstrom, and her daughter Lyn Moody; her grandchildren, Aubree, Wesley, Benton, Leah, and Beau.

Heidi had three sisters, Marianee Taylor and her husband Red, Wheatland, WY, Nichole Rode and her husband Michael, Sarasota, FL, Holly Kerr and her husband Ian, Sarasota, FL; one brother, Jake Niffenegger and his wife Karen, (Heidi’s fourth sister), Belmont, WI. Heidi always remembered her nieces and nephews birthdays and special events.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Robin’s parents and a very special niece, Trina Niffenegger.

Heidi and her family request memorials to the American Cancer Society or any organization battling disease.
