Helen Dukart, 90, Beulah, died December 17, 2021 at St. Gabriel Benedictine Living Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Beulah with Fr. Joseph Evinger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 PM CST on Monday, December 20, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with a vigil service at 6:30 PM CST.
Helen Marie Lech was born April 9, 1931 in Stark County, ND to Frank and Magdalena (Kolling) Lech. She grew up on the farm in the Lefor area where she attended country school.
On November 7, 1951, she married Henry Dukart at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple farmed in Amidon and Gladstone area until 1963, when they moved into Gladstone. In 1968, they moved to Hazen where Helen worked at the Hazen Bakery for three years before they moved to Beulah in 1973. In Beulah she worked at the nursing home and the Jochim Memorial Home. In 1977, she started to work in the school cafeteria where she worked for 18 years. She was active as a foster grandmother in the school and involved in the Senior Companion Program. She was active in the Eagles Auxiliary and the Senior Citizen Center.
Helen enjoyed playing pinochle, fishing, camping, working in her garden and flowers, visiting with family and friends and grandchildren, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by nine children, Francis (Diana) Hazen, Robert (Bonnie), Hazen, Allan (Mary), Bismarck, Elaine (Mark) Brush, Loveland, CO, Gene (Shar), Bismarck, Joyce (Jack) Edwards, Bismarck, Marilyn (Dan) McBroom, Auburn, WA, David (Marlene), Lincoln, Henry (Kim), Fredrick, CO; one daughter-in-law, Malisa, Hazen; and were proud grandparents to 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Willer and Regina Hlebichuk; and two brothers, Joe (Betty) Lech and Steve Lech.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Henry; her son, Gary; her infant son, Paul; her granddaughter, Brittany Leier; six sisters, Katie, Rose, Ann, Marie, Lena and Theresa; and one brother, Frank.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
