Hertha Reinhardt Obituary

Hertha Reinhardt (94) went to be with her Lord on February 27, 2018 at the Knife River Care Center in Beulah. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST, Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Beulah, ND, with Pastor Tom Olson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Zap, ND.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM CST on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah, ND. Hertha was a resident of the Knife River Care Center for eight years. She passed away three days before her 95th birthday.

On March 2, 1923, Hertha was born to Adolph and Pauline (Singer) Weigum north of Zap. She attended school in Krem, ND and was also confirmed there. When Hertha was 17, she went to work for Tyler Cabins in Bismarck, ND. She moved back to Zap where she met her future husband Art Reinhardt at a dance in the Zap hall in 1942. They were married May 16, 1943 at St. John’s Lutheran Church north of Zap. They bought a farm north of Zap. They had two children, Joyce and Jerry.  Together they farmed, raised cattle, chickens, and small grains. Hertha loved raising chickens, gardening, walking the prairies and watching the sunsets. Hertha enjoyed playing the piano, baking bread, canning and cooking for her family. She enjoyed the Psalms and singing hymns.

Hertha is survived by her daughter Joyce (Don) Larson of Fargo, ND; daughter in-law Rhonda Reinhardt of Zap, ND; three grandchildren, Tanner (Nancy) Reinhardt of Zap, ND, Eric Larson (partner Elena Shih) of Providence, RI, and Heidi (Brian) Solos of Woodbury, MN; three step-grandchildren Thomas Carlson of Bismarck, ND, Cory Carlson of Zap, ND, and April Carlson of Hunter, ND; two great-grandchildren, Piper and Grant Solos of Woodbury, MN, and one soon to be great-grandchild baby Reinhardt. She has a step great-grandchild, Vaden Anderson of Hunter, ND. She is also survived by one brother, Clifford (Donna) Weigum.

Preceding her in death is her husband of 67 years, Art (2010) and son, Jerry (2015). Also, seven sisters and three brothers, Alma Sommer, Eleanora Weigum,  Raymond Weigum, twin sister Gertha Pfennig, Leona Jurgens, Gladys Schauer, Leonard Weigum, Carol Shaw, Sally Speidel, and Shirley Burner.

Hertha will be deeply missed as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend.
