Ida Rohde Obituary

Ida Elsie Rohde, 95, of Beulah, ND, formerly of Halliday, ND passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Services will be held at 10:00 AM MDT/11:00 AM CDT on Thursday, May 19, 2022 Our Savior Lutheran Church, Halliday, with Pastoral Intern Anne Nies officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, May 18 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Ida was born on September 26, 1926 in Zap, ND to Jacob and Martha (Henke) Beck. Ida married the love of her life, Clarence Rohde, on October 21, 1955 and the couple moved to the family farm south of Halliday. In 1994, Clarence and Ida moved into Halliday. After Clarence passed in 2017, Ida entered Knife River Care Center and resided there the rest of her life.

Ida was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where she was involved in making many quilts and care packages for World Relief. She was a member of Halliday Civic Club, Dodge Community Club and Dodge Sunshine Club. Ida enjoyed making quilts for her children, grandchildren and other family members. Ida was a fabulous cook and baker and no one ever left her home hungry. Clarence and Ida enjoyed playing cards, square dancing, dancing to old time music and traveling.

Ida is survived by one daughter, Lorraine “Lori” Reiswig of Fargo, ND; one son, Eldon (Sandy) Rohde of Halliday; six grandchildren, Melissa (Gary) McDaniel of Tampa, FL, Elizabeth (Donavan) Schaefer of Turtle Lake, ND, Luke (Caitlin) Rohde of Halliday, Tanner (Tasha Jensen) Rohde of Halliday, Carl Rohde of Dickinson, and Riley Rohde of Dickinson; three great-grandchildren, Courtney (Mel) Anderson of Fargo, Barta Rohde of Halliday and Avery Schaefer of Turtle Lake; three sisters, Delores Layton, Ardella Halter and Arlene (John) Striefel; and many numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; one daughter, Carol Garlock; two sons-in-law, Roger Garlock and Doug Reiswig; three sisters, Tillie Raezler, Lorraine Link and Ruth Novine; four brothers, Gordon, Harold, Ervin and Richard Beck; and two infant sisters.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
