Ila Faye (Eckenrode) Walker

Ila Faye Walker, 78, of Beulah, passed away, Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.  Services will be held at 2:00 PM CST, Saturday, January 22, 2022, at PrairieView Church of God, Beulah, with Pastor Bob Schmidt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hensler Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ila was born on June 18, 1943, at Hazen, ND to Glenn and Vada (Bossen) Eckenrode.  She was raised and educated in Hazen, ND, graduating in 1962.  She then married Leroy Walker at the Beulah Church of God.  Together they had one son, Jeff. 

Ila helped Leroy in the salvage yard in the early years.  She then worked various jobs including the Jack and Jill grocery store, General Trading Company and several motels in the area.  The most recent being Dakota Farms Inn of Beulah.

She enjoyed traveling to various car events especially the Edsel events.  Ila liked to sew and enjoyed tending to her flowers.

She is survived by her son Jeff (Jayne) Walker of Hazen; three grandchildren, Johnathan (Trisha) Walker of Hazen, Jesse (Angie) Walker of Home, KS and Brittany (Michael) Freadhoff of Judson, ND; seven great-grandchildren, Jackson, James, Oliver, Buddy, Zayden, Brayleigh and Mason; two sisters, Gayle Heim of Bismarck and Glenora Arndt of Hankinson, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ila was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Leroy; one brother, Doren Eckenrode.
