Jim D. Riedemann, 80, of Center, ND passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hazen, ND with Rev. Kirk Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Rhine Cemetery, rural Hazen.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Jim was born on June 27, 1941 to Ernest and Ella (Krieger) Riedemann on the family farm south of Hazen. He married Beverly Vavra on June 25, 1965.
Jim was a rancher with a great love for Hereford cattle. He was a brand inspector for 40 years. Jim rodeoed and rode bareback, calf roped and team roped. He attended Western School of Auctioneering in Billings, MT and became an auctioneer in 1985. Jim ran the Riverside Auction House in Stanton for 12 years. He was also a field man for Kist Livestock for many years and still has a special seat at Kist, which he used every week.
Jim had several hobbies. He always wanted to go fishing and also loved to go hunting, especially during deer season. Jim liked to watch rodeos, bull riding and cattle sales on TV. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Beverly; his daughter, Kari (Russell) Putnam; two grandchildren, Matthew Mohl and Kelsey (Collin) Lindquist; his nephew, Brent (Terell) Kuhn; and his niece Connie (Nick) Jensen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ella; his sister, Betty Kuhn and his brother, Randy Riedemann.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
