Joseph Huntimer

Joseph Huntimer, Jr., 88, of Beulah, ND died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Monday, October 24, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Beulah with Fr. Thomas Grafsgaard officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Beulah.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT on Sunday, October 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a vigil service beginning at 7:00 PM.

Joe was born on August 16, 1934 in Chester, SD and was the fifth of seven children born to Joseph, Sr. and Regina (Elskamp) Huntimer. He was baptized, confirmed and educated in the Chester and Dell Rapids area.

In 1955, Joe married Dollie Mae Neuman and the couple had eight children (three deceased). Surviving are Joseph III and Kellie Huntimer of Dell Rapids, SD, Monica and Jim Wilde of Lake Preston, SD, Cindy and Joe Murphy and June Huntimer, all of Dell Rapids, SD and Lisa Lauf of Underwood, ND. Dollie Mae passed away on April 29, 1966.

On August 11, 1973, Joe married Linda Lamp and raised three children, Rick Huntimer of Hannover, ND, Randy and Amanda Huntimer of Beulah and Wendy and Dan Green of Hazen. During this time, Joe worked for North American Coal – Coteau for 20 plus years. After retiring, Joe went back to farming and ranching. He loved his John Deere tractors.

Joe is survived by his wife, Linda; eight children; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kay Sorken of Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dollie; two daughters, Joyce Fiegen and Veronica Huntimer; one son, Donald Huntimer; one grandson, Daniel Sowden; one sister, Marion Goodrick; and four brothers, Robert Huntimer, Jim, Huntimer, Bill Huntimer and Fred Huntimer.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
