Lavern Brunmeier Obituary

Lavern Brunmeier, 94, of Hazen, ND passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND. Services will be held at 12:00 PM CDT on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Cornerstone Community Fellowship, Hazen, with Pastor John Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Hazen City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lavern was born on September 24, 1929 at Bluegrass, ND to George and Stella (Riedemann) Moos. She was raised and educated at country school, south of Hazen. On October 14, 1949 she married Iven Brunmeier. They farmed together north of Hazen for seven years before moving to a farm south of Hazen. It was funny when Lavern didn’t like something she said “go to grass”. She was a member of New Bethel Congregational Church and Cornerstone Community Church of Hazen. She loved Jesus, so it was fitting that her favorite song was “Jesus Loves Me”.

Lavern is survived by four daughters, Maurein and Curt Schroeder of New England, ND, Debra and Dean Lindquist of Bismarck, ND, Pamela and Steve Collar of Harrison, TN and Peggy and Wally Lewis of Big Rapid, MI; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one sister, Junis Schnable of Walla Walla, WA; and one brother, Herbert Moos of Frederick, CO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Iven; her son, Darrel; her grandson, Caleb Slawson;  her brother, Leonard Moos; and her parents.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
