Lee Ray Allmendinger Obituary

Lee Ray Allmendinger, 72, of Beulah, ND died with his family by his side Monday, November 29, 2021 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND. Lee was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. Services will be held at 10:00 AM MST/11:00 AM CST on Friday, December 3, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dodge, ND with Pastor Ronald Dahle officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery, rural Dodge.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CST on Thursday, December 2 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Lee Ray was born July 8, 1949 to William (Bill) and Viola (Dot) Allmendinger. He graduated from Dodge High School in 1967. Lee Ray married Diane (Jepson) Allmendinger and had three children: Tarri, Kelly, and Jessica. Lee Ray had a passion for trucking where he mentored his great-nephew Austin Bohn. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, who loved hunting with his grandchildren and friends. Lee Ray took a once in a life time hunting trip to New Zealand with son, brothers, and nephew. With his practical jokes he will be remembered for, “There’s a booger in your nose” and “How far would you be if I wouldn’t have called you back?” It was fitting that his CB Handle was “Joker.” Lee Ray loved a fun game of pinochle and on a good day he would beat Gladys out of some money. For many years, Lee Ray played in pinochle tournaments throughout North Dakota.

Lee Ray will be loved and missed by many. He is forever in our hearts.

Lee Ray was survived by daughter, Tarri (Kendall) Joki of Dodge; son, Kelly Allmendinger of Dodge; daughter-in-law, Jamie Allmendinger of Dodge; son-in-law, Chris Strommen of Columbus, MT, seven grandchildren, Amber, Trevor, RaiLeigh, Agustus, Kendall Jr., Trygg and Colt; sister, Gladys Isaak of Richardton, ND, brothers, Jim (Deb) Allmendinger of Hazen, ND and Dean (Jonita) Allmendinger of Battle Lake, MN; many nieces and nephews; and special friends.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Jessica Strommen; parents, Bill and Dot; brother, Guy Allmendinger; sister, Eunice Sebastian; brothers-in-law, Norman Sebastian and Almer Isaak; and nephews Eugene Issak and Lucas Allmendinger.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
