Leo F. Dschaak, 83, of Beulah, ND passed away Monday, April 24, 2023 at Sakakawea Medical Center. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Beulah Congregational Church with Pastor Mike Sayler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Zap, ND.
Leo was born on April 5, 1940, to Fred and Clara Dschaak in Beulah, ND. He went to Zap High School in 1958. After graduation, Leo worked at the building of the Garrison Dam. Leo enlisted in the US Army where he spent three years, most of which was spent in Germany. After that he joined the Air Force Reserves and National Guard.
Leo continued going to college where he received a Master’s in Science from NDSU, a BA in Accounting from Moorhead State College, a BA in Commerce and in Social Studies from Dickinson State College. He also received a Doctor of Law and PhD in Religious Studies. He was also involved in investments and watching the markets.
Leo enjoyed his farm in Dickinson, ND and gardening at his home in Beulah, ND. He was an avid reader and continued to enlarge his library of books in his home. His main reading was the Bible and Bible studies.
Leo is survived by his brothers, Bennie Dschaak of Zap, Jim and Beryl Dschaak of Craig CO, Gerald and Connie Bieber of Beulah, Ralph and Renet Bieber of Zap, Doug Bieber of Mandan; one brother-in-law, Terry Preabt; nieces and nephews, Julie Dschaak of Hazen, Jacquline and Phil Hoth of Mesquite, NV, Jamie Dschaak of Craig, CO; Ryan Preabt of Bismarck, Aaron and Kim Preabt of Bismarck, Kristy and Lavern Buchholz of Stanton, Steve and Amy Bieber of Beulah, Jenny Bieber of Beulah, Jessica and Daryl Sollin of Zap Tracy and Chris Siemieniewski of Zap and Jonathan Bender-Bieber of Bismarck; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Clara; his step-father, Art Bieber; sister-in-law, Carmen Dschaak; niece, Sharmain Dschaak; step-sister-in-law, Annette Bender-Bieber; step-great nephew, Liam Siemieniewski.
