Linda M (Riegel) Sailer

Linda M. Sailer, 78, of Beulah, ND passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Dan Paulson officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT on Monday at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Linda was born on October 31, 1943 in Halliday, ND to August and Martha (Stern) Riegel. She grew up and attended school in Halliday and graduated from Halliday High School. On December 5, 1965 she married Elmer Sailer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Halliday. The couple resided north of Zap, ND, where they raised their three children, Kevin, Kenny and Kathleen.

Linda was the head cook at Zap School for many years until it closed. In 1994, Linda and Elmer moved to Beulah where she also cooked at Beulah Public School, as well as at Cenex, Knife River Care Center, Southside Diner and many catering events. Cooking was Linda’s passion and she greatly enjoyed feeding others.

Linda also enjoyed making cards, stamping and sewing. She liked to attend Homemaker’s club and play pinochle and Bunco. Linda had a wonderful collection of cookbooks and also collected salt and pepper shakers. Above all, she enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband, Elmer of Beulah; her children, Kevin Sailer of Zap, Kenny (Julie) Sailer of Lincoln, NE and Kathleen Sailer of Wiggins, CO; four grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Miller, Chase Sailer, Chandler (Dawn) Sailer and Chelsea Sailer; three great-grandchildren, Leif Miller, Natalea Sailer and Kaulder Miller; two sisters, Eldora (Eugene) Sailer of Zap and Leona (Don) Hertz of Bismarck; two brothers, Ernie (Carol) Riegel of Beulah and Tim Riegel of Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ruby and Gladys.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
