Lloyd James Bergstad

It is with heavy hearts and sorrow that we announce the passing of our son, brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend, Lloyd James Bergstad on August 3, 2022. He started life in Washington State on February 28, 1976. He grew up in Hazen, ND and graduated from high school in Stanton, ND.  After high school Lloyd joined the National Guard and later attended college at Lake Region State Collage in Devils Lake, ND. He went on to join the Boilermaker’s Local 647 Apprenticeship program graduating in 2003 and has proudly carried the title of Journeyman Boilermaker to the present day.

 Lloyd is survived by his four children, Alexandra, Kendell, Jared, and Zoe; his girlfriend, Tanya Schrempf; his mother and stepfather, Carla and Robert McKay;  his father, Dennis Bergstad; his grandmother, Norma Knudson; his siblings, Chad, Stacy, and Rebecca Bergstad, Jessica and Ryan McKay; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews (which I hope will understand naming them all would just take away from the short amount of space I have to give to Lloyd.)

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-6 PM Monday August 8, 2022 at Barbot Funeral Home in Beulah ND, followed by a get together at the civic center in Stanton ND to exchange stories and memories, to cry and to laugh, to lean on and to hold each other up, and most importantly to raise your glass and toast the wonderful, Lloyd James Bergstad. He was always ready to stand by your side to give everything he had to help someone in need and whose heart knew no limits. I know I can speak for everyone and say, Lloyd, you are well loved and cherished, and we miss you. Godspeed my Brother.
