Loren Richard Daede, 70, Beulah, passed away on July 31, 2025 after a strong battle against cancer. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with Pastor Kathi Nygaard officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Loren was born May 20, 1955 to Louis and Mary (Nieters) Daede in Jamestown, ND. He attended Jamestown Public Schools where he ran cross country and graduated in 1973. He attended NDSU and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. During his summers in college he worked for the State Highway Department.
In the late 1970’s he began his career with Interstate Engineering becoming office manager at the Beulah office in 1986 and retired after 40 years with the company to enjoy his many hobbies. Throughout his career and in his retirement he was very involved in his community serving on several different boards.
In 1984, he married Toni Bahn and in 1986 their daughter Sara was born.
Loren enjoyed being involved in a dart league, pool league, volleyball, softball, gardening, skiing (water and snow), working on cars, fishing, spending time with family, and soaking in the hot tub. In 2007 he met Nancy Bickerstaff; together they enjoyed traveling and attending Nascar races across the country.
Loren was a calm presence in any situation. He was generous and kind and willing to help out while ensuring valuable lessons were learned along the way. He didn’t just give you a fish, he taught you to fish, literally and figuratively. He is forever loved and already deeply missed.
Loren is survived by his daughter Sara (Casey) Erdmann, Fargo; siblings, Bob Daede, Linda (Mike) Guthmiller, both of Jamestown, and Scott Daede, Bowdle, SD; significant other Nancy Bickerstaff, Beulah; her sons, John Bickerstaff, Earl Bickerstaff, both of Beulah, and Eric Bickerstaff, Golden Valley, ND. Also surviving Loren are nieces, nephews and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and numerous other relatives.
Arrangements conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
