Lynnette was born July 13, 1948 to Clifford and Lorene Goldsmith. She was raised on a farm Northwest of Tuttle along with her 6 siblings.
She graduated from Tuttle School in 1966 and continued her education at Valley City State College. She began her teaching career in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1970.
After moving back to North Dakota with her young son Grant, she taught in Golden Valley, ND. There she met Arley Flemmer and they married on May 26, 1979. Their new life together began in Beulah, with Grant and Arley's children, Shawn and Tricia.
She continued touching student's lives, teaching English and German in Zap and then Hazen, North Dakota, retiring from teaching in 2010.
Lynnette loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher but her faith in her Savior sustained her as she faced many emotional and physical challenges in her last years. Lynnette embraced God's beautiful creation and spent quality time walking and being inspired by spectacular sunrises and sunsets. She read and studied God's word and has notebooks filled with scripture that touched her soul. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and anything outdoors. Lynnette was also very involved in her Church. She taught Sunday school, VBS, and participated in many other Church activities at Prince of Peace in Beulah. These included, quilt making, Feed My Starving Children project, supporting missions, Bible studies and various others. Lynnette will be remembered for her quick wit, her helping hand, her love for her family and her love for her Lord and Savior. She lived her last months at the Benedictine Living Community in Bismarck where she was welcomed, cared for, and loved by residents and staff.
Lynnette was preceded in death by her parents, Lorene and Clifford Goldsmith and in March of 2012, her husband, Arley. Lynnette is survived by her children and grandchildren, Grant Gilliland, Kaytlin and Colleen; Tricia (Todd) Louden, Sam and Noah; Shawn (Kali) Flemmer, Sarah and Kristen, Marissa, Destiny and Mackensie; sisters Wendy Campbell and Susie (James) Heidt, brothers Daniel and Thomas Goldsmith, and sisters-in law Margie Shick and Sharon (Jerome) Wolff and several nieces and nephews.
Lynnette was loved and will surely be missed by her family and many friends. Thank you to all who shared their time and friendship with Lynnette. Her last thoughts for you all are: Let this service be about the Word of God, Jesus and what He has done for all who believe. I love you all------God be with you until we meet again!
