Mardella (Miller) Schulz

Mardella Schulz, 88, of Hazen, ND passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Golgotha Lutheran Church, Golden Valley, ND with Pastor Kent Sperry officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mardella was born to Albert and Louise (Faser) Miller on August 16, 1933, north of Halliday, ND. She was baptized on October 1, 1933 and confirmed on July 13, 1947 at Wittenberg Lutheran Church by Pastor Hans Wiedeman. Mardella married Theodore Schulz on September 24, 1950 at St. James Lutheran Church, Golden Valley. She and Ted were blessed with two daughters, Lila and Laura.

Mardella loved to embroider. She greatly enjoyed gifting her embroidery to friends and family, but especially to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mardella was also a wonderful baker, whether she was baking bread or making candy, it was always delicious. Above all, Mardella enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

She is survived by her daughters, Lila (Ken) Richau of Zap, ND and Laura (Ron) Webb of Mandan, ND; four grandchildren, Kenton (Krista) Richau, Kayla (Jaden) Vettel, Angela Webb and Tyson Webb; four great-grandchildren, Olivia O’Neil, Otis O’Neil, Jeston Webb and KristiAnn Lesli Richau; one sister, Loraine Raszler of Dickinson, ND; two brothers, Edwin Miller of Hazen and Gary (Susan) Miller of Beulah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mardella was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Louise; her husband, Ted; two sisters, Vera Ziegler and Gladys Link; and two brothers, Norman Miller and Dale Miller.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
