Marilyn Grinsteinner, 85, of Hazen, ND, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 19, 2023, at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center Bismarck, ND.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Monday, November 27, 2023, at St. Martins Catholic Church with Reverend Thomas Grafsgaard officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery.

Marilyn was born May 7, 1938, to Rudolph & Genevieve (Sanders) Hegel in Belfield, ND.  The family later moved to Dickinson, ND.

Marilyn married Anton (Tony) Grinsteinner on October 19, 1954 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dickinson, ND.  They lived in Dickinson, where Tony worked at his father’s business.  They later lived in numerous towns in Western North Dakota and Eastern Montana as Tony worked in the oil fields.  In July of 1966, they moved to Hazen where Tony worked for United Power Association where they lived for the rest of their lives.

Marilyn was an active member of St. Martin’s Altar Society and taught CCD classes.  Marilyn enjoyed bowling, puzzles, card games, working in her yard, and planting flowers. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed many items for her family. Marilyn loved to bake and cook and will be fondly remembered for her delectable caramel rolls and German twists that were lovingly baked and sometimes snitched from her freezer by her grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; her daughter, Michele; her parents; her sisters, Ellen, Dorothea, Dolores; and her brother, Rudolph, Jr.

Marilyn is survived by her children Kayle (DeAnn) Grinsteinner, Bismarck, ND, Cheryl Clarys, Hazen, ND, Kim (Alice) Grinsteinner, Hazen, ND; her sister, Clara Toscas, Hemet, CA.; her son-in-law, Rod Huber, Pasco WA; her grandchildren Jayden, Jenna, Alison, Austin, Michael, Tyson, Cole, Zachary, Jennifer, Amanda, & Ashlee; her great-grandchildren, Brynna, Kinsley, Skylar, Genevieve, Jacob, James, and Chloe.
