Marilyn Shine, a long time resident of Hazen passed away at Sakakawea Medical Center on February 26, 2026. Services will be held in Hazen at a later date.
Marilyn was born on August 16, 1948 in Bismarck to parents Roger and Gladys (Jahner) Daub. She was raised in Bismarck and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1966. She was a good artist and one of the founding members of the Hazen Arts and Crafts Association. One of her specialties was card making and her Keepsake Cards were a staple at her yard sales and craft shows.
Marilyn and her little dog Reenie were the managers of the Brooks House Gallery and they made many, many friends there. She and her mother Gladys Daub were gifted painters who both taught painting and sold their works of art regionally.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Gladys Daub of Stanton, beloved Uncle James Kellar of Woodland, WA and her dear friends Chuck Stroup and Louanne and Archie Rosenow.
