Michael (Mick) Marshall of Beulah N.D. passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025 at his home. A funeral service is planned for Monday July 14, 2025 at 10:00 CDT in the Beulah Congregational Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mick was born May 5, 1954 to Joseph and Betty Marshall. He grew up on the family ranch in Big Horn, Wyoming with his three brothers. Many adventures were had growing up at the base of the Big Horn Mountains. Some of his favorites were pack trips on horseback and fishing. And hard work helping out on the ranch.
He attended Big Horn School from first grade through high school. He then attended Northwest Community College in Powell, Wyoming for two years studying agriculture. There he met his future wife, Cheryl Janusick. They were later married in September of 1975. Mick continued to work on the family ranch.
In 1976, he took his ranch skills of mechanics and welding and got a job at Decker Coal in Decker, Montana starting as a laborer and advancing to welder mechanic.
They had two children. William born in 1978 and Robin born in 1980.
In 1995, he took a job at Coteau Mine in Beulah, North Dakota eventually going to the shop as a mechanic and later working in coal handling.
In 1997, they were blessed being able to purchase a small farm south of Beulah that was home until his passing.
Mick loved working on his equipment and welding projects, having many projects going at a time. There was always something waiting that he was excited to get started on.
He also enjoyed snowmobiling in the Big Horn Mountains with his son and good friends.
Mick is survived by his wife, Cheryl; son, Will; and two granddaughters, Lainie and Kinlie; brothers, David, Dan (Lorri) and Joe (Mona).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Betty Marshall and daughter, Robin.
In lieu of flowers, Micks family welcomes memorial gifts directed to Sakakawea Hospice.
