Michelle Marie Duttenhefer

Michelle Marie Duttenhefer, 59, of Mandan, ND, formerly of Dodge, ND passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM MT/11:00 AM CT on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Halliday, ND with Fr. Joseph Evinger officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin Catholic Cemetery, south of Dodge.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Michelle was born on March 16, 1966 to Winfred and Karen (Keller) Duttenhefer in Dickinson, ND. She was blessed to have many special people in her life, including her teachers when she attended school in Dodge and the staff at Able in Dickinson, where she went once a week after she graduated from high school. Michelle was also well taken care of by the home health staff that worked with her several times a week, as well as the Easter Seal respite caregivers. She always enjoyed her time with the coffee ladies that became her friends and always helped celebrate her birthdays. She was also blessed to have a very special friend and caregiver, Betty Selle and her favorite parish priest, Fr. Joe Hajduch, who always called Michelle his girlfriend.

When Michelle moved to HIT in Mandan, where she made her home for almost 10 years, the staff and residents became her loving, second family. The staff at the day program and at her home did an awesome job caring for Michelle. The care she received there and especially in her final days, under the care of Sanford Hospice, was loving and compassionate.

The family would like to share a comforting message that was received from Michelle’s uncle: “The Lord wraps His arms around Michelle and draws her near to Him and that His angels surround her and protect her and I pray that you have the peace of the Lord that possesses all understanding, knowing that the Lord has Michelle in His hands. God bless”.

Michelle is survived by her parents, Winfred and Karen; her sisters, Laura (Dan), Stephanie (Todd) and Carmen (Rick); her nieces and nephews, Alyssa (Tommy), Logan, Hayle (Zach), Erin (Mikey), Jacob (Kaitlin), Nikole and Josh; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
