Monica Anna (Albert) Schrempf

Monica Schrempf, 80, passed away on July 24, 2026, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. A service will be held at 10:00 AM CT on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah, with Pastor Toby Heller officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Monica was born on January 5, 1946 in Berlin, Germany to parents Rudy and Hedwig Albert. She had two siblings, Inga and Frank. It was in Berlin where she lived her formative years and received her education, before she moved to the United States. On November 23, 1973 she married her adoring husband of 52 years, Gerald Schrempf. Together they made a fresh start in Hazen, ND. At that time Gerald worked in Stanton ND at Glenharold Coal Mine. Monica stayed home and made a home for her husband and children. She loved to cook beautiful meals, and music was always playing in the background while dancing and singing was to be expected. She loved to dance. When her children were older she returned to work.

Monica loved to spend time with her friends and family, whether it was lounging on the back patio, taking trips to Bismarck for a day of shopping, or having a nice meal. There was rarely a dull moment in her company. When she wasn’t occupied with family, Monica enjoyed watching her morning soap operas, listening to the king of rock (Elvis Presley), and cooking delicious meals.

Monica is survived by her husband, Gerald; four daughters, Brenda Marzigliano (Steven Gabbert), Tanya Schrempf (Chad Sundsbak), Christina Meyer (Marty Meyer), and Diana Marzigliano; one son, Dennis Marzigliano (Kathy Marzigliano); one brother, Frank Albert; seven grandchildren, Grace Retterath (John Retterath), Caleb Ellingson, Jaxon Schrempf, Charlie and Sam Meyer, and Diana Marzigliano; four great grandchildren, Kimber Gleaton, Emma Churchill, Addison Churchill, and Grant Churchill; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Monica was preceded in death by her mother, Hedwig Albert; father, Rudy; her sister, Inga Carroll (Joe Carroll); her mother and father-in-law, Jake and Elsie Schrempf; her sisters-in-law, Beverly Webb and Ellen (Ronnie) Geiser, and their daughter, Shelly Geiser; and her brother-in-law, Tim Webb; one nephew, Rodney Schiltz. She was especially saddened by the death of her granddaughter, Natasha Nicole Churchill. Natasha and Monica were two peas in a pod. Hopefully they're together in heaven having a grand celebration.
