Myrna Hintz

Myrna Hintz, 79 of Hazen, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2020 surrounded by her family. Services will be held at 1:00 PM CDT, Friday, September 4, 2020, at the Garrison City Cemetery.

Myrna was born March 15, 1941 in McLean County to Freeman and Gladys Crawford. She grew up on a farm in the Garrison area with her sisters, Marlys and Mavis, and her brother Freeman.

In 1958, she married Milfred Krueger and they had 1 daughter, Kathleen Krueger. Milfred passed away in 1961.

She then met Terry White Bear and they had a daughter, Terri Lynn Krueger in 1969. Terry passed away in 1971.

Myrna married Oscar Hintz in 1977 in Stanton North Dakota, when she became a mother to his 3 children, Susie Hintz, Ronald Hintz and Michael Hintz. They made their home in Hazen together for the 23 years they were married. Oscar passed away in 2000. She continued to live in Hazen after that time.

Myrna loved to cook and bake for her family. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed creating so many different things that she could give to her grandchildren. She loved sewing and many of her grandchildren were gifted the wonderful blankets, dolls, and stuffed animals she made. She loved to paint, bead, crochet, cross stitch and any so many more creative crafts. She was so loved by people that she was called “grandma” and “auntie” by many that were not her immediate family. Her happiest times were when she could be with family. She loved to talk on the phone and hear about how everyone was and what all the grandkids were doing. She loved to be surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sitting at her kitchen table laughing and having dinner with her family around her never failed to bring a smile to her face. She had a heart of gold and her family will forever have place in their hearts where the memories of her live.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Kathleen Hintz, Terri Lynn Krueger (Paul Hayes), and Susie (Hintz) Crawford, and her 2 sons, Ronald Hintz, and Mike Hintz, grandchildren, Jori (Hintz) Johnson, Joseph (Melinda) Hintz, Derrik (Angie) Hintz, Shawn (Natalie) Hayes, Matthew Hayes, Jay (Tracee) Crawford, Yvette Crawford, Tyrel Crawford, Michael Hintz, Elliott (Samantha) Hintz, and Anthony Hintz, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Mavis Beauchamp and brother Freeman Crawford, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her 3 husbands, Milfred Krueger, Terry White Bear, and Oscar Hintz, her parents, Freeman and Gladys Crawford, and her sister, Marlys Engel.
