Myrtle Ann (Joslin) Slinde, 91, died peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Missouri Slope, Bismarck, ND. Services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM CT, at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Hazen, ND, with Fr. Grafsgaard officiating. Burial will follow at the Hazen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Myrtle was born in Kildeer, ND, on September 25, 1934, the fifth of seven children to Ray and Cora (Boyer) Joslin. Raised in Minnesota, she graduated high school in 1952 and returned to ND to teach farm school. Soon after, she met a local farmer, John L. Slinde of Stanton, ND. They married on November 18, 1954. They farmed and raised cattle together for many years. Myrtle loved farming and was a great helpmate to John!
Myrtle is survived by her husband, John L. Slinde; three daughters and son-in-law, Connie Sims, Judy Slinde, and Beth and Mike Barschaw; one son, Kent Slinde; five grandchildren, Kaisha (Sims) Theobold, Jamie Jenson, Christopher and Michael Leitch, and Jonathan Barschaw; two great-grandsons, Hendrix and Foster Theobold; one sister, Hazel Warner and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Brady Sims; one brother, Russel; four sisters, Irene Anderson, Betty Hummer, Alta Wilson and Stella Joslin and two brothers-in-law, Oliver Anderson and Floyd Warner.
The family request that memorials be made to SMC Hospice or Hazen Public Library.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
