Nola J. Goode, 90, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024 at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem, ND. A Celebration of Life/Memorial will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Reeder, ND. Saturday, August 31st at 10:30 AM MT.
Nola Jeanette (Ballweber) Goode was born on January 11, 1934 to Delmar and Nora Ballweber in Reeder, ND. She was the seventh of 11 children. Nola married her high school sweetheart and best friend, Donald Schwartz, September 24, 1952. They had five children together-Cathy, Blaine, Janie, Julie, and Barry. Tragically, Donnie was killed in a car accident on December 17, 1972. Eight years later, she married Gerry Goode and gained four stepchildren-Tabby, Eddie, Randy, and Geri Lynn. Gerry passed away March 24, 2019.
Nola had a deep and abiding love for God and family, and a passionate zest for life. She loved music, reading, traveling, going to concerts, and decorative painting. She could dance the twist like nobody’s business, and she could make any house a welcoming and cozy home with her creative decorating skills and warm hospitality. Nola had an outstanding and beautiful soprano singing voice that was unmatched. She sang at many weddings, funerals, and other events. Nola had a very stylish and classy fashion sense. She loved wearing beautiful bracelets, necklaces, and earrings, and was complimented wherever she went. Her radiant and fun personality filled up a room—to know her was to love her.
Nola had an abundant love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The light of her love lives on in each of them. Nola is survived by one brother, Doug Ballweber, and her children , Cathy (Rick) Blaine (Cindy) Janie(Mark) Julie (Ed) Barry (Navy) Tabby, Randy, and Geri Lynn, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
