Norma (Reiner) Sailer

Norma Sailer, 98, of Beulah, ND passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CT on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah with Rev. Toby Heller officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Norma Christina Jacobina Reiner was born June 11, 1926, to Theophil and Elizabeth (Hermann) Reiner north of Zap, ND.  She was baptized July 11, 1926 by Pastor Koslowsky, confirmed on August 11, 1940, with a class of 27 by Pastor Walter Link and married Christ Sailer on November 25, 1945 at St. John’s Church.

Norma grew up on the family farm, attended elementary school and took High School Correspondence by mail.    They lived on the family farm north of Beulah enjoying raising a family, being with relatives and neighbors, farming and raising cattle.  They continued living on the farm until September 22, 1986, when they purchased a house and moved to Beulah.

During their lives they enjoyed the many trips to California, Arizona, Branson, Missouri, Texas, as well as Idaho, Montana, Indiana, Colorado, and a trip for Norma to London, England to welcome a great, grandson into the family.  Christ and Norma also enjoyed camping and fishing.

Norma took cake decorating classes in Bismarck and Hazen, and enjoyed baking wedding and other cakes over the years.  She was a charter member of the Northern Star Homemakers Club which was organized in 1952. A member of ND prairie Rose Red Hats Society, Tops 199, and an active member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League at Concordia Lutheran Church in Beulah.  Christ and Norma celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 25th, 1995, at Concordia Lutheran Church where they were members since it was organized in 1946.

Norma loved God and prayed for her family and friends daily.  Christ passed away in 1996.   She is survived by her brother Pastor Darold (Janelle) Reiner, Kalispell, MT; Her children; Rodney (Linda), West Fargo, ND, Dean (Edna) York, SC, Pam (Wes) Wenger, Bismarck ND;  Five Grandchildren, Nicole (JR) Albertson, Christine (Kevin) Menard, Jodi (Nathan) Hendrickson, Lindsay (Tony) Peterson, Alexandria (Joe) Brown;  7 Great grandchildren, Oscar and Evie Menard,  Kya and Liam Hendrickson, Autumn Peterson, Winston and Theodore Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Christ,  brother Orville, and sisters Eleanor Becker and Carolyn Loeffelbien, and sister in-laws.

1Thessalonians 4:13-18 – “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
