Robert Wilson, 36, of Bismarck, ND passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Twin Buttes Wellness Center, Twin Buttes, ND with Barbara Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Buttes Congregational Cemetery.

A wake will begin at 5:00 PM CDT on Friday, October 4 at Twin Buttes Wellness Center. A procession will be leaving Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah at 3:00 PM CDT.

Robert Wayne Wilson, Nuu’e taa (Mandan), was born on January 17, 1988 to Colleen Wolff and Delmar Wilson in Dickinson, ND.  He was raised in Twin Buttes and attended elementary school in Twin Buttes. He attended high school in Halliday and Killdeer. Robert graduated in 2006 from Halliday High School.

Robert was a hard worker and very reliable employee. Soon after Robert graduated, he went to work for Northern Improvement in Lemmon, SD with his uncle, Corey Ziman. He worked for TAT Wildland Fire Department and went on to work with North Dakota Fire in Bismarck for Faron Krueger, where he loved being on the fire line. He went out to Nevada, Calilfornia, Texas, Montana and Amidon, ND. He worked at the Gerald Tex Fox Justice Center as a correctional officer. During his time at the Justice Center, it was like a big family with all of his coworkers being so close and always there for one another. He was everyone’s little brother, but “son” to Frank and Fred.

Robert was a very kind, caring and compassionate man. He was one of the best friends a person could ask for. He was always raising hell with everyone and liked to keep them laughing. He kept everyone on their toes with his witty comebacks.

One of his proudest moments was when his daughter, Caeley, was born. He and Caeley had a bond like no other. They would talk and talk and laugh and laugh. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her. Robert was also so very proud of his Irish and Mandan heritage that he chose his daughter’s name, as it means “Great Warrior” in Irish.

Robert was truly a free spirit. Some of his hobbies and interests were riding motorcycles, fishing, cruising ATVs, and going to movies (especially with his bro, Justin). Robert was a pool player and when he couldn’t physically play anymore, he played against Caeley and Wanda on his computer whenever he could. He liked to travel and make memories with his mom and Caeley. He also enjoyed going to the casino and winning jackpots, especially with Aunty Ira and Uncle Angus. He liked to collect coins and DC figures.

Robert’s heart was so big, he truly loved all of his nieces and nephews, but he held a special bond with Mia and Kendall Snider, Cree and Remington Sorenson and Jax Little Soldier.

Robert is survived by his parents, Colleen Wolff and Delmar Wilson; daughter, Caeley; uncles, Jim (Deb) Wilson of Grand Forks, ND, Kelly Wolf of Dodge, ND, Wells Wolf of Watford City, ND, Chad Wolf of Dodge, ND and Blaire Selle of Halliday, ND; aunts, Pam (Rob) Snider of Bismarck, ND, Elain Simpson of New Town, ND, Jackie Neuberger of Hazen, ND, Gwen Hostler of Twin Buttes, ND, Kathy Garza of Dinuba, CA, Marilyn Alcon of Halliday, ND, Juanita (Scott) Snow of Bismarck, ND.

Robert was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harold “Smokey” Wolf; maternal grandmother, Mariam (Bull) Stone; great-grandmother, Rose (Nagel) Fournier; great-grandfather, Lawrence Bull; paternal grandparents, Bud and Viola Wilson; special aunts, Karen Aylor and Ira Fox; uncles, Angus Fox and Eddy Aylor; cousins, Kelly Driver, Jai Wilkie and Annie Eagle; and many other relatives, too numerous to mention.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
