Rodger Rosaaen, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 19, 2026. Private family services will be held. Born in Richey, Montana, to Clarence and Jessie (Whiteman) Rosaaen, he grew up alongside his five sisters.
While attending Sidney High School, Rodger met Margaret — the love of his life. On July 11, 1960, they wed, beginning a journey of love that lasted over 65 years and remained strong throughout. Together, they raised their three children in Williston, North Dakota, giving their children a home guided by love and faith.
Rodger spent many years driving truck, a job he genuinely loved, and at one point owned his own construction company. In 1986, he and Margaret moved to Mesa, Arizona, where he managed a trucking business. After a serious injury, they returned to Sidney so Rodger could recover with the support of family. They later spent several years on Margaret’s family farm before eventually returning to Sidney. Most recently, they moved to Beulah, North Dakota, to be closer to their eldest son. When Rodger required additional care, he moved into a nursing facility, where he was visited often by family.
Hobbies were few, as Rodger was so hardworking, but in his downtime, he enjoyed his horses and the occasional camping trips with his sisters and their families.
In his later years, he enjoyed working on puzzles, completing wooden model car kits, and reading.
Rodger’s faith was a big part of his life. He enjoyed serving his church as both an usher and a deacon, always ready to lend a hand. Together with Margaret, he even traveled all the way to Bangladesh for missionary work, showing just how much, they cared about helping others.
As a devoted husband, a loving dad, grandpa, and great‑grandpa, he was often described as “the sweetest man,” known for his smile that always made you smile. He worked hard, loved deeply, and anyone who knew him would describe him as a good man. He gave his children the foundation to be honest, hardworking, kind and loving. His life and marriage showed his family what real love looks like.
Rodger is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children, Todd Rosaaen (Tammy) of Hazen, ND, Tana Olson (Steve) of St. Joseph, MN, and Troy Rosaaen (Jodie) of Queen Creek, AZ; five grandchildren; and four great‑grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Rosaaen; his mother, Jessie (Whiteman) Rosaaen; his sisters, Doris Thorson, Charlotte Anderson, and Verna Sheehan; and his grandson, Ryan Rosaaen.
At peace now, in Jesus’ heavenly arms.
