Roland "Rolly" Gleich Obituary

Roland “Rolly” Gleich, 63, of Halliday, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019, with loving family by his side, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM MST, Saturday, January 4, 2020, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Halliday, with Fr. Joseph Evinger officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery, South of Dodge, ND. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM MST, on Friday, January 3 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah. A rosary and vigil service will begin at 6:00 PM.

Rolly, the son of Tony and Lena (Burger) Gleich, was born on April 6, 1956, at his grandmother’s home in Hebron, ND.  He graduated from Dodge High School and later attended plumbing classes at Wahpeton State School of Science.  Rolly enjoyed his younger years focused on running the family farm while working part-time at the Dodge grain elevator.  On May 17, 1991, He married Margarat Wolff and to this marriage gained three sons, Chad, Wells and Kelly Wolff.  After Rolly and Maggie moved to Halliday, he worked at the Halliday grain elevator until 2011, when he was hired by the Dunn County maintenance crew. 

Rolly was a member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Halliday and served on the volunteer fire department and ambulance crew there.  Rolly always enjoyed a good game of pinochle or cribbage and spending time with family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Maggie of Halliday; step-sons, Chad Wolff of Bismarck, Wells Wolff of Watford City and Kelly Wolff of Dodge; two grandsons, Brayden and Skyler Wolff of Mandan; his brothers, George of Troutdale, OR, Grant of Jamestown; sisters, Bernadine Brown of Hazen and Joyce Madche of Breckenridge, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends;

Rolly was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger and brother-in-law, Charlie Brown.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
