Ronald Stranger Horse, Jr. Obituary

Ronald Stranger Horse, Jr., 51 of San Francisco, formerly of Twin Buttes, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Zuckerberg General Hospital, San Francisco, CA.  A funeral and burial will take place at 3:00 PM, Friday, September 11, 2020 at Twin Buttes Congregational Cemetery with Pastor Diane Travers officiating.

Ronald Eugene Stranger Horse Jr. was born into the Knife Clan on September 23, 1968 in Hazen, North Dakota to Ursula Alberta Little Owl and Ronald Stranger Horse Sr.

After his mother’s passing, Jr. Bug was raised by his Uncle, the Late Ronald Sammy and Auntie Evalon Little Owl and their family.  He attended grade school in Twin Buttes and high school in Halliday, ND.  He then finished his senior year at Moorhead, MN.  Throughout his years in school he excelled in scholastics.  While attending high school in Halliday, he participated in band playing the clarinet and finished his senior year, participating and playing the Oboe in the football traveling band.

After high school, Jr. Bug attended college at the Joseph’s Hair Design in Fargo.  He also studied in culinary school then traveled to Denver, Co for employment.

Jr. Bug lived most of his life in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Here is where he met his partner, Justin Schram.  They enjoyed their company and lived their lives together to the fullest.  Jr. Bug was a good-hearted person and those he encountered, also expressed the same.  He also had a best friend, Marianne Harvey that fondly loved Jr. Bug and was like a mother figure to him.

Although Jr. never returned to his homelands, he never forgot the ways of his upbringing by his Uncle Sam and fondly spoke of the sweat lodge and pow wows and followed his roots of sage burning.

Jr. Bug is survived by his partner, Justin Schram, San Francisco; Uncle, Albert Shobe Little Owl II, Nebraska; Aunties: Renita Mandan, Casa Grande, AZ; Truby Stiffarm, New Town, ND; Raven Heart, Twin Buttes, ND; and Bridgette Little Owl, Bismarck, ND; brother, Sheridan Stranger Horse, White Shield, ND; and many numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.

Welcoming him home are his Mother, Alberta; Father, Ronald Sr.; Sister, Francois; Maternal Grandparents, Albert and Josephine (Iron Bull) Little Owl; Uncles: Ronald Sammy, Orville, Donald, Raymond, and Aaron; Aunties, Zona, Lorraine, Elizabeth, and Christine.
