Rose (Schwartz) Vitek

Rose Vitek, 94, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at CHI St. Alexius Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 25, 2024 at St. Martin’s of Tours Catholic Church, Center, with the Rev. Stephen Folorunso officiating.  Buriel will be in the St. Martin’s Cemetery, Center.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. before services at the church.

Rose was born in Solen, ND November 7, 1930 to Ferdinand and Barbara (Mildenburger) Schwartz of Solen, ND. She attended school in Solen.  After school she worked in Bismarck cleaning in a hotel.  She married the love of her life, Clarence Vitek on May 5, 1958 in Center.  Rose was a homemaker and mother of two children.  She enjoyed trying new recipes and collecting cookbooks.  Rose also enjoyed working in her garden.  She worked with Clarence cleaning at Minnkota Power for about 10 years.  Rose loved spending time with her children and granddaughters.

She is survived by two children, Keith (Brenda) Vitek, Center, and Renee Vitek, Victoria, Texas; five grandchildren, Tiara Ressler and Haley Hilfer, Mandan, Ashley Vitek, Minneapolis, MN, Rachel (Landon) Anhorn, and Morgan (Wyatt Hoger) Vitek; and one sister, Shirley Miller of Bismarck.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, her parents, Ferdinand and Barbara Schwartz; 3 brothers, Richard, Sonny, and Rocky Schwartz; and 2 sisters, Mary Ottema and Barbara Monson.
