Rose Wruck Obituary

Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Rose Lynn Ferderer Wruck passed away on August 23, 2021. Rose was born on March 12, 1960, to Ralph & Eleanor (Hoerner) Ferderer in Bismarck, ND. She attended Cathedral grade school and graduated from St. Mary’s Central High School in 1978.

In 1977, Rose started working at Modern Machine Works in Bismarck, ND, as automotive parts inventory clerk. Where she met her future husband, Kevin A. Wruck, from Mandan, ND. Kevin & Rose were married September 6, 1980, at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, ND. They had two children, both born in Bismarck, ND. Amy Rose was born on May 6, 1983, and Joshua Albert was born on February 5, 1986.

Rose started doing daycare in fall of 1983, so she could stay home with their children. She did daycare until 1988, when Kevin & Rose moved their family to Hazen, ND, where Kevin starting working at Coteau Properties Freedom Mine in Beulah, ND.

They lived in Hazen for 26 years. Rose worked at the Ford dealership in Beulah, ND, as a parts person for 10 years. In 2001, Rose started working at Hazen Drug in Hazen as the Hallmark card clerk. Rose worked at Hazen Drug for 14 years taking on more tasks the longer she worked there. Rose loved working there and meeting the people from the surrounding areas. While living in Hazen, Rose was a very active member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Hazen and also Cursillo.

In 2014, Kevin retired and they moved to Billings, MT, to be closer to their grandkids, Ella & Easton. In September of 2014, Rose was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a mastectomy and went through chemo and radiation, which she finished in June of 2015. Her breast cancer was then in remission. Rose started working for Planteriors in Billings for one year—taking care of plants at surrounding businesses. In February of 2017, Rose started working at Walgreens in Billings. The cancer returned in January 2019 as stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in her spine. She had to retire early in May of 2019 because of the cancer. In early 2021, the cancer had spread to her liver.

Rose loved her flowers & gardening. She loved doing crafts, reading, and just having time alone with Jesus. Rose loved to travel, breathing that fresh mountain air, and visiting friends & relatives. She loved roosters, which were displayed all around her home. She had a deep and profound love for her family and friends. Her smile could light up a room and her friendly personality made everyone feel so welcome in her presence.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph & Eleanor (Hoerner) Ferderer, mother-in-law Bernice McArthur, an infant brother Joseph, and her brother-in-law Greg Morman.  

She is survived by her husband, Kevin A. Wruck, her daughter, Amy Martin, her son, Josh Wruck, her grandchildren, Ella & Easton Martin, Elliot Hendrickson, her sister, Audrey Morman, her brother, Ron (Denise) Ferderer, her sisters-in-law, Georgia (Ray) Keller, Kim Keller, her nieces, Jen (Andrew) Herrud, Katy (Taylor) Ferderer, her nephews, Randy Morman, Jeff (Alice) Morman, Chris (Christina) Ferderer, and Jacob (Lacey) Ferderer, several great nieces and nephews, and so many wonderful and dear friends she had made throughout her life. She was a faithful servant of God and she will be so very missed.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Heights Family Funeral Home and Barbot Funeral Home. A vigil will be held Thursday, September 2, at 7:00 p.m. and the funeral on Friday, September 3, at 10:00 a.m., both at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, in Hazen, North Dakota.
