Rosemarie "Rosie" Klein, 89, of Golden Valley, died peacefully on September 10, 2025 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center of Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM (CT) Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Golgotha Lutheran Church, Golden Valley, with Pastor J. Scott Pierson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Rosemarie was born August 25, 1936 in the township of Deep Creek in Slope County ND, daughter of John and Regina (Hirsch) Frank. She married Valentine "Val" Klein on October 5, 1954 in a double ceremony with her sister, Caroline, and Val's brother Anton. In the early years of their marriage, Rosie and Val farmed north of Gladstone. After living for a time in Dickinson and Zap, Rosie and Val settled in Golden Valley and raised their family within this community.
Rosie was the proud mother of 9 children. Her face lit up and just beamed when family and friends visited her. She loved hearing the latest news of her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She especially loved the technology of phones as she was able to see so many photos of her families and their activities!
Rosie worked as a teacher's aide at the Golden Valley School for many years, up until it closed. The kids at the school even called her "Grandma". She could be very goofy, but also very serious. Her word was heard and you better get on it! (It must have been from raising those nine children!)
Rosie spent her last years as a resident of Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, where staff there called her the "Queen". She loved horse racing and was proud of her Kentucky Derby hat. She also loved playing Bingo. That was the one thing even a visitor could not interrupt. Her Bingo buddies had to be quiet or they had to go away from her table. She could be quite competitive!
Rosie's other joy was the church services at MSLCC, especially when her granddaughters, great-granddaughters, and great-great-granddaughters would join her.
Rosemarie is survived by her children, Jeffery (Bonnie), Connie (Mark) Boeshans, Donald (Darlene), James (Brenda), Isabell Tracy, Janice, Steven, William, and Patrick. Rosie was also loved by 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Other surviving family members include her sisters, MaryAnn Harrington, Regina Schubert; and brothers, Vincent Frank, Daniel Frank.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Clementine Hendricks, Isabell Vickerman, Cecelia Hanson, Caroline Klein Schmidt; brothers, Kasimir, David; daughter-in-law, Leona (Patrick) Klein, and grandson Daniel Klein.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
