Sean Allen Cooksey

Sean Allen Cooksey passed away at Sakakawea Medical Center on February 2, 2024, after a long illness. He was a resident of Knife River Care Center in Beulah, ND.

Sean was born on February 13, 1965, in Flagstaff, Arizona.  Sean attended schools in Flagstaff & Phoenix AZ, Killdeer ND, and Watford City, ND. He graduated from Watford City High School and attended Bismarck State College Auto Body School.

Sean worked as an auto body repairman, carpenter helper, and over the road Truck driver.

Sean is survived by his children:  Thomas (Kimberly) Cooksey, Steven (Sara) Cooksey, and Sierra Cooksey.  Grandchildren:  Keegan Yankush & Dakotah Lynn. His birth mother, Janet Cardinal, his adoptive mother, Linda Cooksey. Siblings:  Alana Flurry, Kevin Cooksey, half-brother Colin (Tanya) Cardinal, stepsister Marti Wolff, and stepbrother Scott Bretzing; numerous nieces and nephews.

Sean was preceded in death by his father Wayne Cooksey and half-sister Dawn Cooksey Francis Ray.

Memorial to be held at a later date.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
