Shannon Ray Obituary

Shannon Michael Ray, loving husband, son, nephew, and uncle, died unexpectedly on May 4, 2023, at this home.

Shannon was born on November 17, 1975, to Gail (Grant) Ray. He was the oldest child and only boy in the family with three sisters. He spent his childhood doing the all the mischievous boy things but had the fondest memories of the time spent with his grandfather, George Grant. He shared many stories of time spent fishing with him.

That love for fishing carried on and became one of the joys in life he shared with his wife Jeannette. Shannon married the love of his life, Jeannette (Ruyle) Ray on April 14, 2001. Together they enjoyed a life full of camping, fishing, watersports, and traveling. They spent as much time as possible on the lake. You would always see a smile on Shannon’s face when he was on the water.

Shannon was a dedicated husband, son, and brother, but also had a soft spot for his nieces and nephews. The fluttering of the eyelashes and “please unk” would get him every time. And as they aged Shannon enjoyed spending time teaching them to drive the boat and wakeboard.

Shannon would have wanted to keep things simple and light up the BBQ in the backyard and challenge you all to a game of cornhole or horseshoes. No service will be held but you are encouraged to gather with those living near you and share a meal and memories of your life with Shannon.

Shannon left us too soon and had so much to share with all of us. Though we are left behind to grieve we find peace in the wonderful memories and many pictures of the good times.
