Sharon (Allen) Meissel, 74, of Hazen, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021, at her home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST, Monday, November 15, 2021, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hazen, with Pastor Kirk Peters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Sharon was born in Beulah, ND on August 17, 1947 to Francis (Bud) and Lucille Allen. She was raised and educated at Stanton, ND with two sisters and two brothers. She was baptized at Our Saviors Lutheran and later confirmed in 1967. Sharon married Delmer Meissel from Halliday, ND on August 11, 1967. Together they lived in Stanton and then moved to Hazen in 1974. Delmer and Sharon built a new home in Hazen and lived there till her death.
She was a member of St. Mathew Lutheran church of Hazen. She enjoyed painting pictures and writing poems for special occasions. She loved spending time with her family and friends and playing cards. She also loved playing the spoons and tambourine with her husband’s band.
They had two children, Kelly Meissel and Tracy (Meissel) Lamberth. She had 4 grandchildren, Keaton Meissel, Ashley Rueb, Kimberly and Kaly Mittelstead. Also a great-granddaughter and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; two sisters, Sandra Phelps and Glenda Allen; and two brothers, Kelly and Donald Allen; also many cousins, nieces and nephews.
