Skyler (Holen) Robertson Obituary

Skyler Lee (Holen) Robertson, 16, Halliday, ND, passed away July 19, 2020 in Wheatland Wyoming.  Services will be held at 11:00 AM MDT/12:00 PM CDT on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Cultural Events Center in Killdeer, ND. Burial will follow at Halliday Cemetery, Halliday.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM MDT/5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah, ND.

Skyler Lee Holen was born August 15, 2003 in Bismarck, ND to Terry Holen and Tammi Robertson. Skyler and his family lived in North Dakota most of his life but after Tammi married Lindsey Robertson they moved to Wyoming for a few years. He loved the mountains there and he also developed a love for fly fishing on the winding creeks in Buffalo, WY.

Skyler was a vibrant young man but also a class clown. He always knew how to make you smile and laugh no matter what mood everyone was in. He never thought before he spoke, he just started talking. He loved his friends and family more than anything in the world. Skyler lived life, freestyle. He loved fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, dirt bikes, riding horses, EATING!!! and celebrating his birthday and Christmas. Skyler’s favorite meal any time of day was a good old fashioned bacon cheese burger. He could be at the best steak house in the country and he would still order a burger. He also played football and loved the team. No matter how hot or cold it was outside he was always happy to give anyone a helping hand. You could always pick on him and he didn’t really care, he would just laugh and smile as you’re picking on him. He had such a wonderful caring mind for animals, and even more so if they were sick or hurt. His laugh was so contagious (a jolly giggle). He would come up to you and tell you the weirdest jokes and the jokes would be so silly that you had to laugh anyways even if you had heard them before. Skyler would always try to make the best out of any bad situation.

Skyler will be deeply missed by his parents, Tammi and Lindsey Robertson and Terry Holen; his sisters, Keesha (fiancé, Mark Hibbard) Holen, Justise Holen, Lisa (Tyler) Fairaizl, Maegan Abbott, Morgan Robertson and Maddie Robertson; his brothers, Deacon Holen, Abel Holen and Caden Liakos; grandparents, Karen and Dave Hook, Margaret and Jerry Holen, James and Kathie Robertson; great-grandma, Anna Marie Dahlen; Uncles, Donnie Hook, Jon (BreAúnna Greenough), Tim Dahlen, Chad Holen and Jeff Altringer; Aunts, Desiree Jensen (Hook), Dorie Nelsen, Hallie Scott, Jessie Burgess and Carrie Liakos; and numerous cousins, many close family and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, JC Robertson, his uncle, Adrian Hook, and his great-grandparents, John Dahlen, Dorothy Grey and Ivine Holen.
