Suzie was born May 10, 1945, in Harvey, ND to John “Slim” and Loretta (Bruner) Lemer. She grew up on the family farm near Balfour, the third of eight children. Suzie attended country school through fifth grade and graduated from Balfour Public School in 1963. She graduated from the St. Joseph Hospital School of X-ray in 1965.

On April 16, 1966, Suzie married David Traiser at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Drake. They would spend nearly 52 years together before Dave’s passing in 2018. They were blessed with three wonderful children: Dan, Tom, and Nancy. They were country people who enjoyed living in rural Minot before moving to Hazen in 2011.

Family was the love of her life. Suzie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was always there for her family. She had great interest in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with all of them and made sure to make each feel special. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community. She was active in various church and school-related groups.

Suzie worked at several Minot healthcare facilities, including Medical Arts Clinic, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Trinity Hospital. She began her career as an x-ray technician, later expanding her skills to include operating the mobile mammography unit. She furthered her education and completed her career as an ultrasonographer.

Suzie enjoyed designing and creating beaded jewelry, making a special effort to create pieces with her granddaughters and many nieces. She was known for her fudge, German potato salad, lefse and wedding kuchen. She also enjoyed traveling with Dave and friends and spending winters in Hawaii. Suzie’s passion was flowers. She became a Master Gardener, enjoyed meeting with her garden club, and spent countless hours creating beautiful yards and gardens.

Suzie is survived by sons: Daniel (Lori) Traiser, Fergus Falls, MN, and Thomas (Jalane Mann) Traiser, Hazen, ND; daughter, Nancy (Vik) Djerdjian, Maple Grove, MN; brothers: Loren (Rosella) Lemer, and Blaine (Joyce) Lemer; sisters: Charlotte Barrington, Barbara Lemer, and Sandee (Jeff) Michalenko; brother in law: Ted (Clara) Smith; sisters in law: Verna (George) Gilfus, Agnes Traiser, Verla Zimmerman, and Faye (Terry) McCarty; grandchildren: Braeton (Jacob) Erhardt, Kristin (Sean Lewis) Traiser, Ashlyn (Matt) Annis, Justin Traiser, Jenna Traiser, Erik Traiser, Cullen Traiser, and Ana Djerdjian; great-grandchildren: Brea, Brenna, and Jaxton Erhardt; and many precious nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave; parents; and father and mother in law, Ira and Florence Traiser; brother, Francis and sister in law Merna Lemer; sister Julie Smith; and brothers in law Bill Barrington, Frankie Bauer, Irving Traiser, Maynard (Buster) Oothoudt, and Neil Zimmerman.

She was a faithful servant of God. We know our world is no match for the beauty that surrounds her now. We know God has received her and welcomed her into his heavenly home, reuniting her with her loving husband, Dave.
