Obituary

Tyler James Schaeffer was a well-loved high school senior who passed away on May 11, 2022 at 18 years of age. A celebration of life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Beulah, ND at 10:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 with a luncheon to follow. A burial will be at a later date in Lincoln, NE where he will be laid to rest with his “Crazy Grandma”.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT on Monday, May 16, at Zion Lutheran Church.

Tyler was born on October 1, 2003 in Lincoln, NE where he spent the first eight years of his life. In 2012, he and his family moved to Beulah, ND where he made many friends, excelled in school, participated in church youth groups and summer camps, and enjoyed playing sports. Tyler attended Immanuel Baptist Church where he participated in AWANA and youth group, and where he was baptized together with his mother.

During high school, Tyler worked as a lifeguard at the Beulah Water Park and at High Plains Concepts. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A favorite pastime was to take long drives and often ended up at his favorite spot at Hazen Bay to watch the sunset. Football and weightlifting were two of Tyler’s favorite activities. He could always be seen on the sidelines getting his teammates fired up and often sent videos with his latest weightlifting achievements to friends and family. He had an uncanny ability to make people laugh at his silly antics and sense of humor which will be greatly missed. After high school, Tyler had committed to the United States Army and dreamed of becoming a Ranger, at which he would have undoubtedly excelled.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Gina and Jerry Campbell, siblings Zach Schaeffer, Jace Campbell, Jerry Campbell, and AdaLynn Campbell, father Jason Schaeffer, grandparents Bruce and Peggy Shaeffer, grandmother Sharon Campbell, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Diana Lynn Smith, grandfather Willard Tolliver Jr, and grandfather Michael Campbell.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Tyler Schaeffer Benefit Account at Union State Bank in Beulah, ND.
