Wayne Breimeier, 68, of Beulah, ND passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. Services will be held at 2:00 PM CDT on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah with Fr. Tom Grafsgaard officiating. Burial will take place at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan, ND, at a later date.
Wayne was born on June 23, 1953 in Hazen, ND to Paul and Verona (Bauer) Breimeier. He graduated from New Salem High School in 1971 before enlisting in the U. S. Marine Corp. He served his country from 1971 to 1974 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. Wayne went on to attend college at the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton where he earned a degree as an electrician. It was also there that he met Shirley Dunnigan, whom he married on November 24, 1978 in Olga, ND. The couple had two children, Erik and Paul. Wayne worked at DGC for 20 years before retiring in 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley of Beulah; two sons, Erik of Fargo and Paul (Kim) of Winton, MN; three grandchildren, Caleb Anderson, Eli Anderson and Calvin Breimeier; eight siblings, Jeanette Gast of Sheboygan, WI, Phyllis (Richard) Behnken of Anchorage, AK, LeRoy Breimeier of Vincennes, IN, Bill (Norma) Breimeier of New Salem, ND, Betty (Bob) Narlock of West Fargo, ND, Arden (Amy) Breimeier of Oxbow, ND, Curtis (Laurie) Breimeier of Bismarck, ND and Rita (Richard) Miller of Carson City, NV; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Rev. James Gast; and two nephews, Scott Narlock and John Behnken.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Bismarck Cancer Center, the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, or a charity of the giver’s choice.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
