Wayne Myers

Wayne Myers, 66, Beulah, died unexpectedly on May 31, 2022, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Services will be held at 2:00 PM CDT on Friday June 3, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah, with Pastor Toby Heller officiating. Burial will follow at Kronthal Cemetery, north of Beulah.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT Thursday June 2, 2022, at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Wayne was born in Rugby, ND on March 15, 1956, the youngest of eight children of Spurgen and Mary (Groff) Myers. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. He was raised and educated in Leeds, ND. He later moved to Zap ND. On October 1, 1983 he married his loving wife of 38 years, Sandra Scheid, in Golden Valley, ND. Together they farmed and ranched north of Beulah. In 1983, he began his career as a maintenance technician at Dakota Gasification Company for 23 years.

Wayne was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He was an excellent cook. Wayne liked spending time on Lake Sakakawea at their cabin. He enjoyed traveling, camping and sightseeing. He and Sandy spent many wonderful winters in Arizona and enjoyed going on trail rides with the side by side. Wayne loved spending time with and visiting family and friends, especially during deer hunting season when friends would come out to hunt. He was a wealth of knowledge and could be found working on many projects around the farm. He loved to spend as much time as possible with his special granddaughter, Ember.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Amanda (Tyrel Franklund); granddaughter, Ember; stepdaughters, Lynn (Jim) Schaper, Stacy (LaRell) Peckham, Blaine (Russ) Homelvig; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his brothers, Spurgen and Glenn (Audrey); his sisters, Gywene Owens, Rita (Richard) Foss, Helen Greenwood , Shirley Owens and Alverna Sasse; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Spurgen and Mary; sister in law, Maida Myers; brothers-in-law, Cecil Owens, Duane Greenwood, and Wayne Owens.
