Willis Wallace Whiteman Sr., 67, of Lincoln, North Dakota, passed away on June 21, 2026. Born on April 11, 1959 in Lorraine, Ohio, Willis was the son of Willis Whiteman Sr. And Caroline (Dunn) Whiteman.
Willis graduated from Fort Totten, North Dakota and went on to college for Police
Science from United Tribe Technical College until his enlistment in the U.S. Army.
Willis proudly answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the Army. He served for four years until his honorable discharge. During his distinguished service, his job was as a Military Police.
Beyond his military career, Willis was known for his love of running, horseback riding, riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing, vacationing, his love of nature and l all animals, his Journeyman work, his knowledge of everything, a jack of all trades, and his involvement with his brother, Marlon in the local Marine Corps League. He will be remembered always for protecting and being generous to his family and loved ones.
Willis was preceded in death by his parents Willis Whiteman Sr. And Caroline (Dunn) Whiteman, uncle John Whiteman, uncle Donald Whiteman, aunt Flora Whiteman Demerey, uncle Quentin Whiteman, uncle Oscar Whiteman Jr., aunt Emily Whiteman Goodbird, uncle Wallace Whiteman, uncle Lee Whiteman, aunt Loretta (Lois) Whiteman Linder, his brother Calvin Whiteman Sr., and nephew Victor Pacheco Jr. his grandparents-Maternal, Josephine Ross and Martin Dunn and paternal-Cora Hunts Along and Oscar Whiteman Sr].
He is survived by his daughter, Lynelle Whiteman; and his siblings, Marlon Whiteman, Annette Pacheco, Carol Whiteman, Donna Corbine and Jennifer Thoreson; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM CT on Wednesday June 24, 2026 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Willis will be buried with full military honors at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Twin Buttes, ND.
