Wilma was born fourth of seven children to Reinhold Martin and Lousia Mutzenberger Martin on August 2, 1931. She grew up and attended rural grade school north of Halliday. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. Johns Lutheran Church north of Halliday. Wilma worked at the hotel in Halliday before marrying Reinhold Hausauer on November 20, 1951, at the Peace Lutheran Church. Together, they began their life on the farm north of Halliday and later would move to the Richardton area where Reiny was then employed by Kessel & Kessel to help build the new Halliday School. After the completion of school, they moved their family to Beulah in 1963. Wilma worked for several different retail stores such as Hanewalds clothing store, Galloways Super Valu, and Coast to Coast Store. In 2004 Wilma moved to Halliday where she worked at the Halliday Public School as a custodian and also assisted at the J & J Grocery and Halliday Custom Meats until her retirement.
Wilma enjoyed quilting, embroidery, knitting, and canning. She enjoyed going out to the farms and seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed her occasional trips to the Casino. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, and a member of the Red Hat Club. Wilma spent countless hours taking care of her son Doug Hausauer while he was in the many nursing homes. She will be missed dearly by all and remembered for her caring ways.
Wilma is survived by her son Jim Hausauer; two siblings, Delores Mohl and Herb Martin; five grandchildren, Jason Hausauer and his wife Kathy of Detroit Lakes, MN, Jeremy Hausauer and his wife Lori, Justin Hausauer and his wife Jennifer, Jorden Hausauer and his wife Elsabe all of Halliday ND, and DeeAnn Pfister of Iron Mountain MI; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
