Winn Herbert Olson, Jr.

Winn Herbert Olson, Jr. left this earthly coil for rejoicing in Heaven on August 20, 2025, after nearly a year struggle following a severe stroke which left him unable to speak, move or support himself in any way. 

Winn was born on November 2, 1961 in Seattle, WA to Winn Herbert Olson, Sr and Sylvia Lucille (Hoffmockle) Olson.  He was the youngest child in a blended family, joining an older brother and three sisters, the only child of Winn and Sylvia.  He graduated High School in Pasco, WA in 1980.  His main work was at “Tater Boy” in the Tri-Cities area, and was a licensed gun dealer and smith for a time.  He enjoyed golfing and riding his motorcycle. He married Kristee Pointon and they had two children, Alan and Rebecca.  Following their divorce, he married Debra Scott, with Debra bringing her son, Kyle into the family. 

Winn loved to tease, eat fast food, loved to talk, share ideas on how to sell something that everyone would want.  Not too successful in that venue, but he loved to have someone listen to him and share the free-ranging ideas he was thinking about.  He was a character with a capital “C”.  These past several months, since mid-September, had to have been very frustrating for him, as he wasn’t able to speak but a word or two randomly, was fed by a tube, and suffered recently from numerous infections.  His most recent home was Larkspur Manor in Kennewick, WA, where he was cared for by an exemplary staff.  We thank you for your care, Brandi and crew!  In his last days, he was also attended to by The Chaplaincy Hospice group of the Tri-Cities, WA.

Winn is survived by his children, Alan D. Olson and Rebecca L. Olson, of Spokane, WA; his stepson, Kyle Scott, Seattle, WA; his sisters Betty L. Hunt, Hazen, ND; Nancy C. (Greg) Larson, Des Moines, WA and Jennifer M. (Walt) Wolff, Hazen, ND.  Nephews Brent W. Olson, Karl W. (Wendy) Wolff, Steven G. (Carrie) Wolff, Daniel M. (Gaby) Wolff and great niece and nephews Crystal, Eliott, Oslo and Ernesto and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Scott Olson; his parents, Winn and Sylvia,  Father-in-law Robert Scott; his brother Paul R. (Patti) Olson; nephew Bryan W. Olson, and his Aunt Bea and Uncle Russ Winn whom he fondly looked up to.

Romans 8:38-39  “I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
