Winston Hallett

Winston A. H. Hallett Sr., 87 years of age, from Amsterdam, NY, went home to be with His Savior Jesus Christ at 3:05 am at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND, on Monday, July 8th, 2024. Viewing will be at 9 am and the Celebration of Life service will follow at 10 am, and both will be held at the Christian Church of Rural Grove, NY on Monday, July 15th, 2024.

Winston was born on May 30th, 1937, in Amsterdam, NY. He is survived by eight siblings: Richard, Carol, Mary, David, Coleman, Midge, Spence, and James. His loving wife Donna went before him to heaven in 2017. Winston and Donna were married in 1962. Two of his children also went before him to heaven: Winston Jr., and Debbie. The remaining children are Tim, Rebekah, Wanda, Gwen, Rhoda, Gilbert and Jonathon.

Winston was called by God to the preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a child. As a young man he came to faith in Christ and began to follow that call. He served in the USAF from 1957-1961. After that he worked a total of 25 years for General Electric and pastored 7 churches over the course of many decades, in both New York and Pennsylvania.

His favorite sports were NASCAR racing and baseball. In his spare time, he loved visiting with people and praying with them. In recent years he could frequently be found handing out Gospels tracts at the train station or waiting in a food line to help others. He loved his church and his church family. He also loved meeting new people and talking to them about Jesus. On July 4th, just days before his passing, at a 4th of July celebration, he spent most of his time talking about Jesus. He finished his race well. He will be missed but his family and friends know he is now where he longed to be for many years: In heaven with Jesus and reunited with Donna, Debbie, Winston Jr., and other loved ones.
