My condolences to the family. I grew up and lived across the alley from Don in Fort Madison. I can remember sitting in the backyard with him and having many conversations about hunting and fishing. He was always a lot of fun as a young kid to hang out with.

I Loved Don...I am so sorry for your loss DeEtta and was so happy when I got to know yours and Don's son..."chip of the ole' block"! When I met you and Don I was so amazed with the Love the two of you shared, it was so wonderful to see. Then that Don and his big sense of humor and his "check out board" in the garage for his tools!! I couldn't believe it, his love for your and your son was as big as the world, his heart was as big as the universe. My Mom passed on the 4th of July also, I was thankful she had gained her independence back and am thankful that Don has his back as well. All my Love and God's Blessings.

I am a first cousin of Donald's,and the son of Elmer. I grew up in Milton so I saw a lot of the Hetzler boys growing up. Dear Hetzler Family: Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. May you find comfort in the words written at Acts 24:15, where God promises to bring back to life those we have lost in death by means of a resurrection.
