Betty Lou (Kruckenberg) Jensen

Betty Lou Jensen, 86, Fargo, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2016, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. A private family memorial and burial service will be held on Tuesday, September 6 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery where she will be buried beside her husband, Dr. Warren Robert Jensen.

Betty Lou was born July 27, 1930 to Emma and G.H. Kruckenberg. She grew up in Beulah and later moved to Bismarck where she completed high school.

On June 2, 1948, she married Warren Jensen, and subsequently lived in Chicago, El Paso Texas, Fairbanks Alaska, and Fargo ND, before moving to Valley City where she lived for 34 years. Betty Lou was an enthusiastic, outgoing person who enjoyed a life of faith, friends, and beauty. She was honored to be the 1968 N.D. Republican Woman of the Year and always enjoyed discussing politics. She spent many years as Superintendent of Sunday School, grades 1 - 6, at Our Savior’s Lutheran church in Valley City. She loved being a mother and grandmother.

After retiring Dr. Warren and Betty Lou moved to Little Man Trap Lake near Park Rapids, MN. Betty Lou owned and operated “House of Jensen Antiques” for ten years, and enjoyed many very special friendships. In 2007, they moved to Hazen ND and once again, Betty Lou enjoyed many heartfelt friendships.

Betty Lou is survived by her children, Jan (Tom) Moore, Wahpeton, Jill (Hans) Kandel, Moorhead, MN, and Gaylen (Pam) Jensen, Hazen; eight grandchildren, Anna, Kristina, Jessie (Jacob), Joren (Jill), Jedidiah, McKayla (John), Benjamin and Anneke; two great-grandchildren, Jory and Guy; and three siblings, Ruth, Arlene, and Keith (Joan).

Betty Lou rejoiced in Jesus and we now rejoice with her in her home going. She lived and died well-loved.
